MEVO R290

MEVO is an air to water heat pump from GSI, designed and built in Italy. One outdoor monobloc unit provides heating, cooling and domestic hot water, and it runs on the natural refrigerant R290 (propane), which has a global warming potential of 2.

It heats water to 70°C, hot enough to run existing radiators, so it can replace an oil or gas boiler without changes to the heating system. Only water pipes run into the house, so no refrigeration engineer is needed for the indoor connections.

Hot water from recovered heat

MAGIS models capture heat that would otherwise be wasted and use it to heat the hot water cylinder to 70°C while the unit heats or cools the house. The optional AMOS hot water unit arrives with the scald protection valve, expansion vessels, electric heater and pipe connections already fitted.

Quiet and easy to control

30 mm insulation, optimised fan blades and vibration dampening keep sound power between 55 and 59 dB(A), depending on the model, and the unit can also be mounted on wall brackets. Owners can set three heating and cooling levels and hot water times from a phone, tablet or computer. Paired with the AIER energy meter, the heat pump can use surplus solar PV power to heat water.

For larger buildings, up to six GSI heat pumps can run in cascade from one controller, which rotates the units and matches output to demand.
